The Art League of Lincoln celebrated All Things Clay on Saturday, April 30 at the Beermann Plaza in downtown Lincoln. The event, called “Clay Day 2016,” offered art vendors, demonstrations, music, food and a kids’ clay play area. Various teams were challenged with carving clay pipe during the event, with prizes awarded to the Most Creative, Most Humorous and Best Representation of Sponsor. Several members of the Lincoln city council, city staff, as well as other organizations, took on the pipe-carving challenge.
The Rotary Club of Lincoln sponsored the children’s Camp Clay area, where kids of all ages experimented with clay shaping and carving.
Event attendees were able to purchase food and drinks from the Lincoln Police Activities League (PAL) food trailer.
Clay Day 2016 is part of America’s Clayfest IV, a multi-venue clay arts showcase that runs through May 28. For more information about America’s ClayFest, go to the Art League of Lincoln website.
