This time of year offers many chances to see a variety of migratory birds in the area around Lincoln. Geese and ducks frequently stop in at the ponds and collection pools.

A short drive out into the rural areas provides many more opportunities to witness the grand migration of these birds.
Closest to town, you can find plenty to see along the walking/bicycling trails that circumnavigate the neighborhoods around the southern part of Lincoln Crossing. These trails are accessible at a number of entry points and give the viewer a close vantage point.

These water areas are on the edge of town, along the trails surrounding the Lincoln Crossing neighborhoods.
A short drive east of Lincoln will take you to many large water areas near Marcum, Catlett and Pleasant Grove Roads. At times these large pools are filled with noisy ducks, geese and swans; other times the areas are empty and quiet.
