The Downtown Lincoln Association hosted a “Food Truck Mob” on Wednesday evening. A portion of Fifth Street was blocked off and seven mobile food vendors served up a variety of foods and desserts. A steady stream of Lincoln customers sampled the foods of the food truck craze, popular in many cities across the nation.
The Food Truck Mob will be a regular event on second Wednesdays through the summer. Plenty of table seating was available in Beermann’s Plaza.
Catherine Enfield, Marketing and Event Coordinator for Sacramento Food Mob, said the food truck association is excited to bring the trucks to downtown Lincoln. She said, “Each month we will bring different trucks out so people can check out the variety. Also, the local vendors, like Dave’s Dawgs, will be here every month since he is a Lincoln resident.” Enfield said over 20 food trucks belong to the association.
Many of the downtown businesses were also open during the event, giving visitors a chance to see what’s new in the historic part of Lincoln.
