The Second Annual Community Wellness Faire drew large crowds in spite of the hot forecast for Friday. The all-free, kid-friendly event was a welcomed invitation for anyone with children just out of school and getting restless.
Promoted by Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center of Lincoln, the Wellness Faire featured over 40 vendor booths spread out on the grass at McBean Park. Health and wellness were the themes of the day, with many booths offering exercise and dietary services. Kids could also climb inside a Lincoln Fire Department truck, ride ponies, explore a nature walk, pose in a photo booth, play in the jump-houses and practice Zumba exercises. Raffle prizes were given away by many of the vendors.
Many families took advantage of the cooler morning hours, visiting the booths early. A soft breeze kept the worst of the heat away.
